history
From the place name one can conclude that the place was created by the settlement of Wends . This was ordered by King Konrad I at the Reichstag in Forchheim (911) not only for this place, but for the entire Franconian area and carried out in the following years, so that one can assume that the town was founded in the 10th century.
On May 1, 1978, the place was incorporated into the city of Scheßlitz.

In Windischletten there is the fruit and horticultural association and the volunteer fire brigade . The local Christian voter community (CWG) forms the second largest parliamentary group in the Scheßlitz city council with four seats.
