history

The first documentary mention as the village of "Bulo / Pulo / Puolo" took place in 1293 in connection with the knight family of those of Peulendorf. However, the village is probably much older. After 1410, the Knights of Peulendorf were no longer mentioned in the region. The barons of Wiesenthau followed as new owners until around 1625. Between 1739 and 1742 the now listed prince-bishop's foal farm was built, which is often incorrectly referred to as a hunting lodge. In the first decades of the 20th century it served as a health resort, later as a retirement home. Today it is privately owned. The old schoolhouse was built in 1736, the parish church in 1757 . The school was expanded in 1831. The construction of a new schoolhouse followed from 1881 to 1882, as the old one was run down and was no longer suitable for an extension. In 1893 the place was raised to a parish .

Peulendorf was spared from shelling by American forces during World War II . The residents have therefore held an annual thanksgiving procession ever since.

On May 1, 1978, the place was incorporated into the city of Scheßlitz.

Until the mid-1980s, the place was known as a fruit-growing area.
