Location of the city of Scheßlitz in the Bamberg district

Ehrl is a village and district of Scheßlitz in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg with 119 inhabitants (as of 2005).

On May 1, 1978, the place was incorporated into the city of Scheßlitz.

On a bridge over the Ellerbach there is a statue of the bridge saint Johannes Nepomuk from 1981. The base bears the inscription "Love overcomes violence".

The stilt walker on the Ellerbach is reminiscent of the nickname Bachstelzer . When the brook still had flat banks, the water was crossed with the help of stilts. The memorial stone also reminds of the age of the place (750 years) and of the former rulers of the Dompropstei and Langheim Abbey .
