Oberoberndorf is a district of the market Zapfendorf in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg with about 80 inhabitants.

geography

Neighboring places are in the north Peusenhof (Markt Ebensfeld , district of Lichtenfels ), in the southeast Schweisdorf , in the south Windischletten (both city Scheßlitz ) and in the west Kirchschletten (Markt Zapfendorf). The Aspach rises in Oberoberndorf and flows past Kirchschletten to Zapfendorf, where it flows into the Main .

history

Oberoberndorf was first mentioned in a document in 1303 with the name "Oberndorf". During the Thirty Years' War the village was completely burned down and some of the inhabitants were killed.

The construction of the village church, which is dedicated to the Heavenly Queen Mary, began in 1885.

On July 1, 1972, Oberoberndorf was incorporated into the Zapfendorf market. Today there are 19 properties in the village, in which almost 90 people live.
