Lauf is a district of the Zapfendorf market in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg with a good 700 inhabitants.

geography

Neighboring towns are Roth in the east, Sassendorf in the southeast and Zapfendorf in the northwest. The federal motorway 73 runs north of the village .

history

The village was first mentioned in writing in 1202. At that time, the place was owned by the Bamberg cathedral chapter , which created fish ponds . The first church was built in 1400. The chapel was dedicated to the Three Wise Men. In 1718 today's church was built in the Baroque style.

On July 1, 1972, Lauf was incorporated into the Zapfendorf market.
