Michael Lusch (born June 16, 1964 in Hamm ) is a former German soccer player and coach.
Career
Lusch celebrated his first Bundesliga appearance for Borussia Dortmund in the Revierderby against FC Schalke 04 on September 18, 1982, when he was still an A youth. He celebrated his greatest success in the final of the DFB Cup in 1989 against Werder Bremen , when he came on in the 73rd minute and scored the 4-1 goal for Borussia Dortmund in the 74th minute, which was also the final score. He played nine UEFA Cup games for BVB in the 1992/1993 season. After reaching the UEFA Cup final in 1993 , Lusch saw no future at BVB and moved to 1. FC Kaiserslautern for two years . After another year at KFC Uerdingen, he let his amateur career end.
After the career
After his career, Lusch wanted to do the football teacher training course at the DFB Academy, but was not given a place in the course. The former midfielder then became the managing director of a football center in Dortmund that he still runs.
Since 2003 he has also worked as an amateur soccer coach, most recently at Westfalia Rhynern in the NRW-Liga as head coach. He was released from this post on May 27, 2011.
