Michael Müller (born October 17, 1639 in Kempten ; † March 26, 1702 in Tübingen ) was a German Protestant theologian and president , professor, chancellor, rector and prorector at the University of Tübingen .

Life

Michael Müller was President at the University of Tübingen, repetent on the princely scholarship, 1662 deacon in Göppingen , 1665 deacon in Stuttgart , 1676 special superintendent and city pastor in Göppingen, 1682 city pastor in Tübingen. In 1683 he was promoted to Dr theol. doctorate and became third in 1682 and first full professor of theology in Tübingen in 1698/99. 1699–1702 he was Chancellor of the University of Tübingen. He is the father-in-law of Johann Christoph Gerlach . In 1684, 1689, 1694 and 1698/99 he was rector and 1689/90 prorector of the University of Tübingen. His portrait, painted in 1699, hangs in the professors' gallery in Tübingen .

Johann Eberhard Rösler , philosophy professor and rector of the University of Tübingen, was his grandson.
