David Clayton (special effects artist)

David Clayton (* in Brisbane , Queensland ) is an Australian film technician who specializes in visual effects .

Life

Clayton graduated from the Queensland University of Technology . His first job at Peter Jackson's Weta Digital was his work on The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King , which won eleven Oscars in 2004 and is his first collaboration with Jackson. Clayton's greatest achievements to date have been the Oscar nominations for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug , which are the third and fourth collaborations with Jackson, respectively.

Clayton is married and has two daughters.
