Michael Mende

Michael Mende (born June 23, 1945 in Schleswig ; † July 16, 2008 ) was a German technical historian .

Life

Mende grew up in Wilhelmshaven and Bremen . After studying art education , art history , political science and vocational education in Berlin, he initially worked as a lecturer, then from 1980 as a professor at the University of Fine Arts in Braunschweig . His main focus was with several publications the history of technology , industrial archeology and the history of construction technology.

Mende was (as the successor to Karl Marten Barfuß ) from 2006 until his death the spokesman for the Scientific Advisory Board at the Northwest German Museum for Industrial Culture in Delmenhorst.
