Michael Mischinger (born February 12, 1956 in Rostock ) is a former German soccer player. For FC Hansa Rostock , he played in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of the GDR football association . He is a multiple young international player.

Career

Mischinger, who was born in Rostock, played in the youth teams of BSG Motor Rostock until 1970 and that of FC Hansa Rostock between 1970 and 1973. From 1972 he played in the junior league and in 1973 was included in the squad of the GDR junior national team. There he entered his first international junior game on June 27, 1973 in the encounter Finland - GDR (0: 3) and was used as a right midfielder. In total, he came to 25 junior international games, then he played 21 games with the GDR youth national teams.

Even as a junior player, Mischinger was already used in the men's division. In the 2nd team of FC Hansa, which was playing in the second-rate GDR league at the time, he played his first league game on April 8, 1973 as a substitute. In the following season 1973/74 he came on December 1, 1973 in the match between FC Carl Zeiss Jena - FC Hansa (2-1) for his first league deployment, in which he was called up for the full season as a left midfielder. After another brief assignment on the 14th matchday, Mischinger only played two league games this season, and he continued to play in the second team. In 1974/75 he seemed to have developed into a regular player in the league team, because he played all 13 point games in the first series, but after that he was only used as a substitute in four games at the end of the season. Hansa ended the season as relegated, so that Mischinger 1975/76 could only play in the GDR league. He was involved in 14 of 30 games in the immediate resurgence of his team. From the new league season 1976/77 on, the 1.75 m tall Mischinger finally established himself as a midfielder as a regular for the Rostockers and retained this status until his last league season in 1985/86. From 1981 to 1984 he was the captain of the team.

Mischinger was only briefly part of the extended squad of the senior national team , in 1982 he made it to the substitute for the international match in Iceland. He also played in a friendly against the Swedish club team Malmö FF. His eleven games with the Olympic soccer selection were only for practice purposes.

Mischinger had to complete his last season at FC Hansa Rostock again in the GDR league. It was the fourth relegation in his career, because after 1975, 1977 and 1979 the club was relegated again from the league in 1986. Meanwhile, at the age of 30, Mischinger only played six times in the 1986/87 league season. After the promotion he was no longer nominated for the first team, for which had completed 181 first and 77 second division games and 34 cup games within 14 years. Although he was registered for Hansa II in the GDR league, he actually played the 1987/88 season with the third-rate district division BSG Schifffahrt / Hafen Rostock , with whom he made promotion to the GDR league. In the summer of 1988, Mischinger ended his career as a professional football player.

For a short time, Mischinger worked in the coaching staff of the BSG Schifffahrt / Hafen, from 1990 the qualified engineer for socialist business administration was employed by w.Holz GmbH after the German reunification, which operates in the gastronomy and catering sector in Rostock, among others Ostseestadion operates.
