Michael Morpurgo
Sir Michael Andrew Bridge Morpurgo (born October 5, 1943 in St Albans near London ) is a British writer. He was the winner of the Children's Laureate (2003-2005). The idea for this award came from a conversation between the poet Laureate Ted Hughes and Morpurgo.
