Michael Nees

Michael Nees (born July 23, 1967 in Karlsruhe ) is a German football coach . Since 2013 he is technical director of the Israel Football Association ( IFA ) to the Football Association of Israel .

Life

In his active time as a player Nees only made it to the top football league ; In addition to playing soccer, he studied sport and ethnology at the University of Heidelberg and was active as a youth coach. After completing his studies, he worked as a sports teacher, as a consultant for the Japanese Football Association and, since successfully completing the football teacher training course at the Cologne Sports University in 2001, for the DFB in various football development projects in Africa, including as the national coach of the Seychelles in 2003/2004. During the 2006 World Cup he was employed by the DFB as a coach for the English national team.

With Rwanda he was third in the 2006 CECAFA Cup ; but he was dismissed when the team could not qualify for the 2008 African Cup as third in the qualifying group .

In 2008 he was sent by the DFB as a technical advisor to the South African Football Association as part of a cooperation. Since March 8, 2013 he has been the technical director of the Israeli Association and since July 1, 2013 he has also been the coach of the U21 Israeli.
