Michael Ohlhoff

Michael "Ohlly" Ohlhoff (born January 11, 1964 in Bremen ) is a German musician, composer and record company owner. He is the guitarist and singer of the band Rumble on the Beach and co-owner of Bear Family Records .

Life

In 1968 Ohlhoff moved with his parents to Gernsheim in Hesse , where he grew up until 1975 and attended the local elementary school. In 1976, after returning to Bremen, Ohlhoff began playing the guitar.

In 1981 he had his first band called Feedback. Feedback was a punk rock band that emerged from a school project at the Lange Reihe 81 school in Bremen. After graduating from high school in 1983 at the Lange Reihe school center (Bremen) and then studying at the University of Bremen and performing with his second band, Neon Hearts, Ohlly joined the Bremen rockabilly band Randy Rebels in 1984 as a rhythm guitarist. Up until then, the Randy Rebels were a trio, consisting of Torsten Gluschke (vocals, guitar), Andy Merck (bass) and Marc Mittelacher (standing drums). 1985 Ohlhoff, Merck and Mittelacher left the Randy Rebels and founded Rumble on the Beach. After ten years Rumble On the Beach took a break and Ohlhoff took a job at Bear Family Records as a commercial clerk. In 2015 he took over the Bear Family label together with Detlev Hoegen.
