Rumble on the Beach is a German rockabilly - country - punk - rock'n'roll band from Bremen .
history
Rumble on the Beach was founded in mid-1985 by "Ohlly" Michael Ohlhoff (guitar, vocals), Marc "Tinroofcat" Mittelacher (drums, vocals) and Andreas "Andy" Merck (bass, vocals). The group released several records on the Weser label by Claus Fabian ( Die Mimmi's ; ex- ZK drummers) and the Berlin record company Vielklang. The rockabilly version of the Prince classic Purple Rain reached number 6 in the German independent charts in 1987. Bravo magazine published an article and record reviews of the band.
Further record releases and tours in Europe, Canada and the USA followed. The highlights include a joint tour with the Stray Cats as well as working with American rockabilly artists Rosie Flores , Ray Campi and Ben Hewitt . In December 2015 the group gave concerts in Bremen and Essen again after almost 20 years. These appeared at Bear Family Records in January 2016 CD re-released tracks from the early 1985 to the 1988th
