The Aicocai ( Rio Aicocai ) is a right tributary of the Rio Sui in southern East Timor .

course

The Aicocai rises in the south of the Suco Maulau ( Maubisse administrative office , Ainaro municipality ), in an imaginary triangle between the towns of Tali-Felo (Suco Edi ), Ernaro and Cotomata (Suco Manelobas ), at an altitude of about 1290  m . The river leaves Maulau in an east-southeast direction . Maintaining the same direction, the Aicocai crosses the Suco Manelobas to the Suco Manetú . Then the river bends in a south-southeast direction and forms the border between the Sucos Manelobas and Manetú for about three kilometers . Finally, to the southeast, the river crosses the border to Suco Aitemua ( Turiscai administrative office , Manufahi municipality ). Describing an arc, the Aicocai continues to flow north-northeast.

The Aicocai swings towards east-northeast and after 300 meters of the river reaches the Carbou, which flows out on the left . The estuary is about 920  m above sea level on the border with Suco Beremana . 300 meters beforehand, a creek that emerges from two arms of the spring and is only around 500 m long meets the Aicocai on the left.

1.5 kilometers east of the direction of flow after the confluence of the Carbou, the Aicocai flows into the Rio Sui on the right , at an altitude of 800  m . The last 1.5 kilometers the Aicocai forms the border of the sucos Aitemua and Beremana.

The approximately 11 kilometers long Aicocai is strongly meandering throughout its course .
