The East Timorese Suco Edi ( Edy ) is located in the center of the Maubisse administrative office ( municipality of Ainaro ).

Before the 2015 regional reform, Edi had an area of ​​18.32 km². Now there are 17.98 km². Edi borders the Suco Maulau in the north and northeast, Manetú in the east and southeast , Aituto in the southwest and the Suco Maubisse in the northwest . Most of the border with Aituto runs along the Colihuno River .

The larger towns are in the north of the Sucos. Two places are called Tali-Felo ( Talifelo ). One is in the northwest, the other in the northeast. The village of Lebibo is located near the border with Suco Maubisse , further south the towns of Herbau ( Hebau ) and Lobibo . The towns of Demutete ( Dimtete , Dimtele ) and Rai-Mera ( Raimera ) are close to the center of Sucos. Herbau has a hospital, while Tali-Felo and Lobibo each have a primary school in the west.

In Edi are the six Aldeias Demutete , Hebau , Lobibo , Rai-Mera , Talale and Tali-Felo .

Residents

2460 people live in the Suco (2015), of which 1265 are men and 1195 women. The population density is 136.8 inhabitants / km². There are 353 households in the Suco. Almost all of the residents give Mambai as their mother tongue. A small minority speaks Idalaka .

politics

Fernando Magno was elected Chefe de Suco in the 2004/2005 elections. In the 2009 elections, Januaryio Mendonça Araújo won and in 2016 Julio Mendonça Martins .

economy

In 2011, the Suco received solar modules from the government for power supply.
