The Sui ( Rio Sui ) is a left tributary of the Caraulun in the municipality of Manufahi in southern East Timor . The Sui is the largest tributary of the Caraulun.

course

The Sui has several headwaters. The northernmost rises a little south of Turiscai in Suco Manumera ( Turiscai administrative office ), at an altitude of 1220  m .

To the west of it rises the Carbou and in Suco Maulau ( Maubisse administrative office , municipality of Ainaro ) the Aicocai , into which the Carbou flows. Further tributaries come from the Sucos Mindelo and Beremana (both administrative office Turiscai).

Coming from the administrative office Turiscai, the Sui flows strongly meandering further south and forms the border between the sucos Tutuluro and Babulo (administrative office Same ) in the west and the sucos Fahinehan (administrative office Fatuberlio ) and Taitudac (administrative office Alas ) in the east until the Sui in the center of Same flows and flows into the Caraulun on the left at about 250 meters above sea level.

About 22 km before the estuary, the river, which was previously barely a meter wide, widens to a width of 100 meters for about a kilometer in length, and then flows again narrowly and strongly meandering 10 kilometers through the forest. Then the Sui, partly river islands and tributaries, continues to form until shortly before the mouth to a width of up to 420 meters. In this area, 8 kilometers before the mouth, the Sui has a last major tributary on the left.
