Claus Fabian
Claus "Fabsi" Fabian (born March 31, 1956 in Düsseldorf ) is a German music producer , drummer and singer. He was the drummer of the punk band ZK , is the singer of the group Die Mimmi’s and owner of the record company Weser Label .
Life
Fabian is a trained medical technician and worked in this profession for eight years. His musical career began in 1978 with the formation of the band ZK in Düsseldorf. He played drums there until it was dissolved in 1981. The band Die Toten Hosen later emerged from the ZK members Campino and Kuddel .
After the ZK was dissolved, Fabian moved to his then girlfriend and current wife Elli (artist name: Elli T. Sex) in Bremen in 1981 and founded the band Slipeinlage with her . As a singer, Fabian was the only male member of the group. At the same time he played drums in the Düsseldorf band Aram & Die Schaffner . At Aram & die Schaffner , the founding members of the Toten Hosen, Michael Breitkopf and Walter November, played at times , but never with Claus Fabian. With the group he played at the first two Toten Hosen concerts in the Bremen slaughterhouse in 1982 and at the Berlin Oktoberfest in SO36 .
In the 80s he founded the band Die Mimmi’s and took up the idea of panty liner , as the only man to sing among women. Since Die Mimmi’s couldn't find a publisher for their first single Deutscher Meister , Fabian founded the Weser label and the record was self-published. In mid-1995, Fabian's mother committed suicide. He and his wife Elli couldn't cope with this at first and the Mimmis temporarily ended.
In 1996 he founded the formation Fabsi & the Peanutsclub together with his wife Elli . The group supported the Anarchist Pogo Party of Germany in 1998 - albeit without Elli - on a campaign tour . In October 1999, a tragic shoulder injury meant the temporary end of his career as a drummer.
With the Weser label, he now sells records by Slime , The Lurkers , Die Goldenen Zitronen and Rocko Schamoni, among others .
Since November 2002 Fabian has been active again as the singer of the newly founded Mimmi's. On the Toten Hosen DVD Friss oder Die - Directors Cut from 2005, he can be seen on drums at the ZK anniversary concert .
Since 2003 Fabian has been organizing the Rock'n'Roll Butterfahrt festival on the Helgoland dune . Die Mimmi's have been the headliners since the beginning.
