Michaël Parkinson (born November 23, 1991 in Reading , United Kingdom ) is a Dutch volleyball player .

Career

Parkinson's started playing volleyball at the age of seven. In his youth he was also active in swimming and tennis . He first attended Alfrink College in Zoetermeer . In 2011 he began studying at the Technical University of Eindhoven , but decided to take a distance learning course at the Open University England because it was more compatible with sport . In the first Dutch league, the middle blocker played for Rivium Rotterdam until 2011 . Then he was signed by the Belgian first division club Noliko Maaseik , with whom he won the championship and cup double in the first season. Parkinson made his debut for the Dutch national team in 2011 . In the summer of 2013, however, he had to forego missions due to an injury to his ankle . Since he was treated in 2015 by Fons Vranken, the athletic coach of the SWD Powervolleys Düren , the German Bundesliga team signed him as the thirteenth player for the 2015/16 season. With the Düren, he reached the playoff quarter-finals ; In the CEV Cup , the SWD Powervolleys also made it to the quarter-finals. After the season, Parkinson left the club. With the national team he took part in the volleyball world league in 2016 . He then moved to the Belgian first division club Lindemans Aalst .
