Michael Pfahler (born November 29, 1965 in Pirmasens ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach .

Career

As a player

In his youth, Pfahler was active for the Palatinate clubs SV Bad Dürkheim , Rot-Weiß Seebach and 1. FC Kaiserslautern. In 1983 he moved to Saarland to the upper division club FC Homburg , where he initially played for the first team. In 1984 the team was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga , and its playing times increased. In 1986 the trained office clerk went to SV Eintracht Trier and thus back to the Oberliga Südwest. With Trier he was champion in the first year and second in 1987/88, but the promotion was not achieved. For this he became with the Association of German Amateur Masters by a final victory over VfB Oldenburg in the Möslestadion in Freiburg . The game was also attended by the president of the second division club SC Freiburg , who signed Pfahler a few days later. As a result, Pfahler established himself in the left midfield of the Breisgauer, before he broke a tibia and fibula in a clash with Saarbrücken goalkeeper Alfred Wahlen in December 1991. Pfahler was only able to make his comeback 14 months later against Chemnitzer FC and made eleven appearances by the end of the season when the SCF under coach Volker Finke succeeded in advancing to the 1st Bundesliga for the first time . He played for the team from Breisgau for five years and made 116 league games (9 goals). In 1993/94 he was still active for SpVgg Unterhaching in the Oberliga Bayern and then ended his higher-class career. In 1994 he was presented as a new addition to the Freiburg FC who played in the Association League South Baden.

Michael Pfahler played a total of 144 second division games (9 goals).

As a trainer

As a trainer, he has been responsible for the Baden amateur clubs SF Elzach-Yach, FC Bötzingen (promotion to the association league in 2006), SV Blau-Weiß Waltershofen (three times in total; greatest success: promotion to the district league in 2004) and has been the coach of FC Emmendingen since January 2011 . The 2010/11 season ended the FCE in second place in the Landesliga Südbaden. The team successfully played the following relegation games for promotion - they entered the Association League South Baden in 2011/12 . However, Pfahler went straight back to the national league with the FCE.
