Michael Pfeifenberger

Michael Pfeifenberger (born April 10, 1965 in Zederhaus , Salzburg ) is an Austrian director and screenwriter .

Life

Michael Pfeifenberger has been working as a freelance filmmaker since 1997. His first feature film Thanksgivin ', the midnight blue city with leading actress Marianne Sägebrecht was released in 2000 and was shown in Austrian and German cinemas as well as at international film festivals. His youth drama 011 Beograd - Survival in the city was published in 2003. In Israel, Michael Pfeifenberger shot the youth drama Chaltura - Leila & Lena as “filmmaker in residence” at Ben Gurion University in Be'er Scheva . In 2008, Todespolka was made , a film privately financed by producer and screenwriter Stephan Demmelbauer and directed by Pfeifenberger and starring Alexander Pschill . The film is inspired by recent developments in Austrian politics, a thriller about “Austria under a legal regime”. Death polka received the Mexican film prize "Bronze Palm Award". Also in 2008, the multiple award-winning film essay Josef Winkler - Der Kinoleinwandgeher , filmed in India, Mexico and Austria, was produced under the direction of Michael Pfeifenberger.
