Michael Reul (born January 20, 1967 in Frankfurt ) is a German politician of the ( CDU ). He is a member of the Hessian state parliament in the 19th electoral period and chairman of the CDU district parliamentary group in the Main-Kinzig district .

Life

Michael Reul is married and has three daughters. He completed an apprenticeship as a banker . He also completed his degree in economics . Before starting his state parliament mandate, he worked for DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale . He was also an honorary judge at the Hanau Regional Court (2009-2014)

politics

Michael Reul is a member of the CDU Hessen and holds several party offices. From 1992 to 2006 he was active in local politics in Gelnhausen, including five years as city councilor, six years as party chairman and five years as chairman of the main and finance committee. From 2011 to 2013 he was a city councilor in Bruchköbel and headed the main and finance committee as chairman.

He has been involved in the district assembly of the Main-Kinzig district since 1995. Since 2011 he has been chairman of the CDU district assembly. He has been campaigning for people with disabilities in the State Welfare Association of Hesse since 2003, where he is the financial policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group and chairman of the budget committee.

After the 2013 election, he succeeded in entering the Hessian state parliament as a directly elected member of the Main-Kinzig III constituency (constituency 42). He prevailed with 46.6 percent of the vote against his competitor Heinz Lotz from the SPD, who got 35.1 percent of the vote. Michael Reul is a member of the budget committee, the social and integration policy committee, the committee for science and art, the petitions committee, the sub-committee for financial and administrative control and as a deputy member of the main committee in the Hessian state parliament. He is the disability policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group.

In the 2018 state elections, Reul was able to defend his direct mandate with 28.8% of the votes cast.
