Michael Sachs (politician)

Michael Sachs (born September 4, 1947 in Coburg ) is a German SPD politician . From 2011 to 2015 he was a political official in the State Council in the Authority for Urban Development and Environment of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg .

Life

Michael Sachs studied sociology, history and German. He was the SPD district chairman of Hamburg-Ottensen , from 1978 to 1986 a member of the Hamburg Parliament and at times spokesman for building policy for the SPD parliamentary group.

From 1989 to 1992 he was managing director of WVN Wohnungsverwaltung Nord, from 1992 to 1995 he was a consultant for the development of an entrepreneurial housing industry in Russia. Afterwards he was managing director / board member of the municipal housing company SAGA GWG in Hamburg until 2009 . From 2010 to 2011 he was housing construction coordinator and from 2011 to 2015 State Councilor in the Authority for Urban Development and Environment (BSU) of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, with responsibility for urban development.

Since 2015 he has been chairman of the supervisory board of the Berlin housing company Gewobag .

Michael Sachs is married and has a son and a daughter.
