Michael Schenk (communication scientist)

Michael Schenk (* 1948 ) is a German communication scientist .

After completing school and high school with a high school diploma in Schongau and an internship at Carl Gabler advertising agency / Atlas Verlag und Werbung in Munich, Schenk studied business administration at the University of Regensburg . He graduated in 1974 as a graduate in business administration and was in 1977 at the University of Augsburg Dr. rer. pole. PhD. He then led projects at the market and opinion research institute Infratest dimap (Munich). In 1983 he completed his habilitation at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Augsburg. In 1984 he took over a professorship for media economics at the Institute for Journalism at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . Schenk has been Professor of Communication Science at the University of Hohenheim since 1986 . From 1990 to 1994 Schenk was a scientific advisor to Infas Media Research, Bonn-Bad Godesberg. Since 1993 he has been head of the research center for media economics and communication research at the University of Hohenheim.
