Viktor Davidovich Kupreitschik ( Russian Виктор Давыдович Купрейчик , Belarusian Віктар Давыдавіч Купрэйчык / Viktar Dawydawitsch Kuprejtschyk , the World Chess Federation FIDE Viktor D. Kupreichik ; * 3. July 1949 in Minsk ; † 22. May 2017 ) was a White Russian , formerly Soviet chess players .

Life

Kuprejchyk (1965)

Wiktor Kupreitschik was awarded the title of Grand Master by FIDE in 1980 . With the Belarusian national team he took part in the chess Olympiads in 1994 , 1996 , 1998 , 2000 and 2002 as well as the European team championships in 1992, 1999 and 2003.

Kuprejtschyk won the Senior European Championships in rapid chess in Thessaloniki in 2010 and in Courmayeur in 2011 . At the 2016 European Seniors Championships in Yerevan , he came 2nd in the 65+ age group.

In Germany he played for SV 1920 Plettenberg, including in the 1997/98 season in the 1st Bundesliga . His last Elo rating (May 2017) was 2370, and his highest rating of 2580 was in July 1981.
