career

In 2001, Schröder moved from his hometown of Kassel to BG 74 Göttingen and secured a place in the second division of the "Veilchen" through his performances in the youth as well as in the 1st and 2nd regional leagues. In 2004 he was invited to the Nike Hoop Summit - a game between a junior world team and a US team. In the same year he came to international matches for the German U20 national team. Later he was part of the A2 national team.

In 2005, Schröder moved from Göttingen to the Bundesliga club GHP Bamberg , but only played for Bamberg's cooperation team TSV Breitengüßbach in the 2nd Bundesliga , apart from one brief assignment each in the first division and in the Euroleague .

He returned to Göttingen in 2006 and, as a constant under the basket, made a significant contribution to promotion to the Bundesliga. Schröder was then recognized by the internet portal eurobasket.com as the best German player in the 2nd Bundesliga North of the 2006/07 season. After promotion, he came to Göttingen in 32 first division matches during the 2007/08 season and posted an average of 5.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.

In 2008 he accepted an offer from Bundesliga competitor Ulm , but did not get there in the 2008/09 season beyond the status of supplementary player. In 2009 he was signed by the second division BBC Bayreuth , with whom he became champion of the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . Schröder was used in 20 games on the way to winning the title and scored an average of 5.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per encounter.

Schröder ended his professional career after the year in Bayreuth, joined the second men's team of BG 74 Göttingen in the 1st regional league and worked as a motor vehicle mechanic in his father's company in Kassel. In the regional league, Schröder was a pillar for the "Veilchen", although professionalism had priority in the meantime. He and the team won the championship title in the 1st Regionalliga Nord in 2011 and contributed an average of 12.2 points, 13.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocked opposing throws per game. From 2012 he still played for ACT Kassel in the 2nd regional league, and from autumn 2014 in the regional league for Hann. Münden.
