Michael Wegner

Michael Wegner (born July 20, 1958 in Berlin ) is a Berlin entrepreneur and politician ( CDU ). From 2009 to 2011 he was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives .

Life

Wegner studied at the TU Berlin after graduating from high school . He completed his studies with a degree in business administration and was awarded a doctorate as Dr. rer. oec. Since January 1st, 1978 he has been working as a self-employed businessman. Wegner is an honorary professor with a teaching assignment / contract at the Faculty of Law and Economics at the Pitești State University in Romania.

Wegner has a daughter and a son from previous relationships. He is married to the CDU MP Emine Demirbüken-Wegner of Turkish origin and has two children with her.

politics

From 2003 to 2009, Wegner was regional chairman of the medium-sized and business association of the CDU Berlin and was active in various board positions of the CDU. From 1999 to 2006 he was district councilor for construction, property and building management in the district office of Berlin-Reinickendorf . From 1989 to 1993 Wegner was President of the Hotel and Restaurant Guild Berlin und Umgebung eV, today's DEHOGA Berlin.

Wegner was from December 3, 2009 until October 26, 2011 as a replacement for Frank Steffel as a member of the Berlin House of Representatives. There he was a member of the main committee, the budget control subcommittee, the investment management and controlling subcommittee and the science and research committee.
