Michael Wendt (lawyer)

Michael Wendt (born November 9, 1955 in Münster ) is a German lawyer and presiding judge at the Federal Fiscal Court .

Life

After obtaining the polytechnic degree as Diploma Finanzwirt studied 1,978 Wendt 1979-1983 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster law . He passed the two state law exams in 1983 and 1986. From 1979 to 1987 he was also employed by a tax consultancy. From 1987 Wendt worked as a judge at the Münster Finance Court . In 1991 he was seconded to the Ministry of Justice of the State of Brandenburg and in 1995 appointed presiding judge at the Finance Court of the State of Brandenburg. In 1996 he moved to the highest German tax court in Munich, where he was appointed judge at the Federal Fiscal Court. There he was assigned to the IV Senate. With his appointment as presiding judge at the Federal Fiscal Court in 2010, he took over the presidency. The IV. Senate deals mainly with questions of taxation of income from agriculture and forestry as well as income from commercial operations of partnerships.

Wendt was the press spokesman for the Federal Fiscal Court from May 2006 to November 2011.

As a lecturer at the Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU) in Munich , Wendt is also active in academic teaching.
