Michael Wittmann (draftsman)

Michael Wittmann (* 1959 in Vienna ) is a draftsman of comics and fantasy and science fiction series. His career began in the 1970s as a science fiction fanzine draftsman. In 1980 Ernst Vlcek approached him about the series Mythor , for which he drew illustrations in several booklets until the series was discontinued. In the 1990s, Wittmann mainly drew comics and cartoons for customer, industry and employee magazines. From 2001 to 2013 Michael Wittmann regularly drew illustrations for the Perry-Rhodan novel series. He has been working on the comic series ASH - Austrian Superheroes since 2016 .

In his "civil career", Michael Wittmann studied law . He works as a lawyer in the Austrian Ministry of the Environment, where he is responsible for chemical policy. In 2002 he edited the conference publication The Role of Precaution in Chemicals Policy .

Michael Wittmann has been leading workshops on comic drawing in various educational institutions for years.
