Michael Wohlleben (born October 5, 1990 in Augsburg ), called "Michi", is a German mountaineer and sport climber from Künzelsau . He climbs in different disciplines.

Life

Michael Wohlleben went to the mountains with his father as a child and, when he was eight, joined a climbing group of the German Alpine Club (DAV). As a teenager he joined the DAV expedition team and at the age of 17 climbed the Eiger north face . A few months before graduating from high school, he left school in 2010 to become a professional mountaineer. He is a certified mountain and ski guide . Wohlleben trains in the Heilbronn climbing arena .

Climbing tours and ascents

In 2008 he gained his first experience over 6,000 meters on an expedition in Pakistan.

The mixed climbing tour "Pray for Power" ( difficulty level M13, the highest in mixed climbing ) in the Starzlachklamm was drilled and first climbed by him in 2009. The tour has not been repeated so far.

In 2010 he had to stop his activities in the alpine winter season due to a knee injury after a crash. Instead, he concentrated on sport climbing and on June 5, he managed a tour in the 11th degree of difficulty (UIAA) with "New Orleans Heavy Weight Division".

In 2011, together with Fritz Miller, he managed to climb the north face of the Eiger in 5 hours and 10 minutes, which was the third fastest time for a rope team and the best for a German team. Within 2 weeks he made another mixed route with grade M12 +.

In that year he also climbed the Camillotto Pellissier , and successfully climbed the rock route "Odd Fellows" in the Franconian Jura .

In 2012 he was part of an expedition to the Andes, where a planned first ascent on the Jirishanca over the east pillar had to be canceled due to dangerous conditions.
