Michael Zerbes

Michael Zerbes (born September 13, 1944 in Dresden ) is a German athlete and Olympic participant who - starting for the GDR - won the bronze medal at the European Championships in 1966 with the 4 x 400 meter relay (3: 05.7 min , together with Jochen Both , Günter Klann and Wilfried Weiland ). In the 400-meter run of these European championships, he was eliminated in the preliminary run.

At the Olympic Games in 1968 , he also started in the 4 x 400 meter relay (eliminated in the preliminary run) and in the 400 meter run (eliminated in the intermediate run with 46.19 s).

Michael Zerbes started for TSC Berlin . In 1968 Zerbes won the GDR championships over 400 meters. Zerbes set several GDR records, his time of 45.6 s 1968 was the first run of an GDR athlete under 46 seconds. In his playing days he was 1.95 m tall and weighed 81 kg.
