Michaela Erler
Michaela Erler (born June 29, 1965 in Berlin ) is a former German handball player.
The handball player of the year 1995 and 1996 began playing handball in Berlin when she was seven. With 285 international matches, Michaela Erler played the second most games for the German national team . The circle player scored 690 goals.
She became world champion with the German team in Norway in 1993 . In 1998 she publicly announced her resignation from the national team in front of the camera - surprisingly even for the coach. In 2003 she announced her retirement from active competitive sport. Occasionally she also plays for the Bundesliga Allstar team in friendly matches for charitable purposes or for club anniversaries.
