Michaela M. Özelsel

Michaela Mihriban Özelsel (born December 9, 1949 in Kiel , † August 19, 2011 in Frankfurt (Main) ) was a psychologist and non-fiction author.

life and work

Michaela Mihriban Özelsel (née Jantzen) was born in Kiel, but grew up largely in Turkey . After graduating from the German School in Istanbul , she studied psychology at the University of North Carolina and did her doctorate at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main in clinical psychology on the subject of psychosomatic diseases of Turkish employees .

Özelsel was active in research and teaching in the field of ethnotherapy . She was also an instructor in behavior therapy and a speaker on the subject of Islam and Sufism . She was active in interfaith dialogue and trialogue .

Özelsel received the title of "Lecturer at the University of Maryland , European Division" in the 1980s as a prerequisite for teaching US soldiers in Aschaffenburg.
