Michaela Prinzinger

Michaela Prinzinger (born March 6, 1963 in Vienna ) is a neo-Greekist , freelance writer , interpreter and translator .

Life

After studying Byzantine Studies , Neo -Greek Studies and Turkology / Islamic Studies at the University of Vienna and a doctorate in Neo -Greek Studies at the Free University of Berlin , Prinzinger was initially a research assistant at the Byzantine-Modern Greek Seminar there, later a university lecturer in Vienna, and a post-doctoral fellow at Princeton University and habilitation scholarship from the Fund for the Promotion of Scientific Research in Vienna. Since 1995 she has been working as a freelance writer, interpreter and translator in Berlin.

For her numerous literary translations from Greek, she was funded by the translators' workshop of the Berlin Literary Colloquium , the German Translation Fund and the literature department of the Austrian Federal Chancellery.

In August 2014 Michaela Prinzinger presented her German-Greek internet portal diablog.eu to promote the Greek language, culture and German-Greek understanding. This initiative was nominated for the Berlin Blue Bear European Prize in 2015 .

Prinzinger is a member of the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works , VdÜ.

At the Leipzig Book Fair 2019, work journals by Camille Luscher and Michaela Prinzinger were exhibited as part of the TOLEDO funding program.
