Michaela Scheday
Michaela Scheday (born April 12, 1953 in Vienna ; † April 21, 2004 there ) was an Austrian theater actress and director .
Life
Michaela Scheday graduated from high school in 1971, then lived briefly in Israel until she returned to Vienna in 1972. She studied drama and logistics at the University of Vienna , but interrupted her studies in favor of the Krauss drama school , which she graduated with.
Scheday made her first appearance in 1977 at the Ensemble Theater in Turandot . She played mainly in Viennese theaters, such as the Volkstheater , the Theater am Petersplatz or the Hoftheater Gossan. Her directorial debut in 1988 with The wrong maid of Pierre de Marivaux on St. Peter's Square. Later she also wrote her own pieces such as Shushi Connection and Ein Fest für Frida Kahlo .
In 1997/98 she was a lecturer at the Max Reinhardt Seminar and in October 2002 she was awarded the Golden Merit of the State of Vienna . In 1979 she worked in a supporting role in Tatort: Murder in the Grand Hotel .
Michaela Scheday died of a brain tumor on April 21, 2004, after having collapsed at theater rehearsals in early 2003.
She received an honorary grave in the Vienna Central Cemetery (group 40, number 87).
