The Evangelical Lutheran listed Michaeliskirche is located in Schmiedefeld , a district of the district town of Saalfeld / Saale in the district of Saalfeld-Rudolstadt in Thuringia . The parish Schmiedefeld in the parish light-Walldorf part of the parish area Döschnitz in Kirchenkreis Rudolstadt-Saalfeld the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The hall church was built in 1734-1736. The nave is covered with a slate mansard roof, from which the roof tower rises in the southwest . The nave is closed on three sides in the northeast.

The interior has two-story galleries and is spanned by a flat, wooden barrel vault on which the Trinity with the 24 elders, surrounded by the evangelists, is depicted. The pulpit altar was created by Johann Jeremias Daniel from Leutenberg during the construction period. The baptismal angel also comes from the construction time. The organ was built in 1751 by the Coburg organ builder Paul Daum.
