Mikhail Wladimirowitsch Fischman ( Russian Михаил Владимирович Фишман ; born December 3, 1972 in Moscow , also Mikhail Fishman ) is a Russian journalist.

Fischman was born in Moscow, he studied at the philological faculty of Lomonosov University . He then embarked on a journalistic career. Among other things, he worked for Echo Moskwy and the daily Kommersant as well as for various Russian online media.

Since 2004 he has worked for Russki Newsweek , the licensed edition of the American news magazine Newsweek. From September 2008 to October 2010, he was editor-in-chief of the magazine. In 2008, Fischman was awarded the Paul Khlebnikov Foundation's “Prize for Excellence in Journalism” . After Russki Newsweek was discontinued in October 2010 for economic reasons, Fischman was Russia correspondent for the daily Die Welt . He moderates a weekly news program on the Doschd television channel and has also been editor-in-chief of the online magazine Cityboom since 2014 . Fishman has been editor-in-chief of the Moscow Times since November 2015 .
