Michal Daněk (born July 6, 1983 in Pilsen , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech football player . The goalkeeper has been under contract with Dynamo České Budějovice since 2012 .

Club career

Daněk started playing football in Hlučín , at the age of eight he moved to Baník Ostrava . For the 2002/03 season, the goalkeeper was included in the professional squad and was number three behind Jan Laštůvka and Martin Raška .

Without commitment, he was loaned to the then second division club SK Kladno in July 2004 , for which he completed 18 league games. In the first half of the 2005/06 season Daněk was awarded to Chmel Blšany . He returned to Ostrava during the winter break , but was only a substitute keeper behind Raška.

In the summer of 2006, the former junior national player was signed by Viktoria Plzen , where he had a regular place from the start and developed into one of the strongest goalkeepers in the league. In January 2008 Daněk was loaned to the English second division club West Bromwich Albion until the end of the season.

There he was on the bench in the spring of 2008 and only played in the reserve team. In August 2008 West Bromwich Albion broke the loan deal with the goalkeeper, who then joined FK Teplice . In January 2009 Daněk returned to Pilsen. In early 2009 Daněk returned to Pilsen , where he was the regular goalkeeper. For the 2010/11 season Daněk moved to his former club Baník Ostrava for a year on loan.

National team

Daněk went through all Czech junior teams from the U-15 to the U-21. The goalkeeper completed a total of 52 international matches at junior level. In the game of the Czech national team against Cyprus on November 21, 2007 Daněk was on the bench.
