Michel Abt (born July 25, 1990 in Heidelberg ) is a German handball trainer and former handball player .

Career

Michel Abt started playing handball in his childhood at TV Forst. In 2004 he then moved to the Rhein-Neckar Löwen . After his first appearances in the first team in 2009, the 1.93 meter tall backcourt player was a permanent member of the Lions' Bundesliga squad in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons , with whom he won the EHF Cup in 2013 and the won German championship. In January 2017 he suffered cartilage damage . As a result, Abt ended his career after the 2016/17 season. Then he took over the coaching of the second team of the lions.
