Michel Hénon
Michel Hénon (born July 23, 1931 in Paris , † April 6, 2013 in Nice ) was a French mathematician and astronomer who conducted research at the Observatory ( Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur ) in Nice.
His Hénon mapping is known in mathematics , a simple discrete dynamic system that exhibits chaotic behavior . The Hénon Heiles model is named after him and Carl E. Heiles (1964).
He also worked on the three-body problem and in the 1960s dealt with the dynamics of star clusters, especially globular clusters, which he simulated using the Monte Carlo method .
In 1978 he received the Prix Jean Ricard .
