Michel Lamoller

Michel Lamoller (* 1984 in the Black Forest ) is a visual artist whose works move on the border between photography , sculpture and installation . He has created a novel technique in which he uses layered photos and a scalpel knife to create deep reliefs and to construct three-dimensional spaces into the pictorial space of photography.

Career

As a teenager, Michel Lamoller was already engaged in drawing and photography, which he learned in his father's darkroom. After an internship at Magnum Photos (2005), he studied from 2005 to 2012 a. a. at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg photography , film and sculpture with Silke Grossmann, Wim Wenders and Matt Mullican .

Since completing his master's degree in 2012, he has participated in over 40 international exhibitions. He became known to a wider public through the publication of his series "Tautochronos" ( Greek: tauto = equal, chronos = time ). This has been discussed in a variety of international magazines, journals, and other media, such as Wired .
