Michel Seiler

Michel Seiler (born April 14, 1949 ; resident in Madiswil ) is a Swiss politician ( Greens ).

Life

Michel Seiler is the son of Robert Seiler and Ruth Schwab, who together founded the anthroposophical school and home community Schlössli Ins in 1953 , where Seiler grew up. He trained as a construction carpenter and in 1972, after the Schlössli Ins was handed over to his brother Ueli Seiler, he took over the Vordere Stärenegg children's and youth home in Trubschachen, which was founded in 1970 . Both institutions remained closely connected through the Seiler family and were based on similar pedagogical principles, but were formally independent of each other. After various expansions, the Berghof Stärenegg consists of five small and medium-sized farms and a small school in Trubschachen. Another thirteen partner farms in Switzerland and eight farms in other European countries are closely linked to the home. Michel Seiler lives in Trubschachen.

Michel Seiler was mayor of Trubschachen from 2006 until his resignation in 2012.

In 2014, Michel Seiler was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern , where he was a substitute member of the Health and Social Commission until 2015. Seiler has been a member of the vote counters of the Grand Council since 2017.

He is Vice-President of the Foundation Council of the Seiler in Ins Foundation, President of the Stärenegg Foundation in Trubschachen and President of the Berghof Stärenegg Association in Trubschachen.
