Michel Winock
Michel Winock (born March 19, 1937 in Paris ) is a French historian .
Winock was Professor of History at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris and Program Director of the Editions du Seuil publishing house . His book Siècle des intellectuels (1997) has been translated into German ( The Century of the Intellectuals ) and Spanish ( El siglo de los intelectuales ).

- Knight of the Legion of Honor
- 1997 Prix Médicis for "The Century of the Intellectuals".
- 2010 Prix Goncourt for the biography "Madame de Staël", Fayard, 2010

Winock has published around 40 books. He is the editor of the monthly magazine "L'Histoire", which has been published since 1978.
