In winter 2018/19 she made her debut in the IBU Cup , the second highest competition series in the adult division, where she achieved her best result at the end of the season with a sixth place in the Martell sprint . At the beginning of the following winter, she started as a B-team athlete in the IBU Cup, but was appointed to the World Cup team for the first time in Oberhof in January 2020 and subsequently received regular appearances in both individual races and in the relay, with the In shape, Nicole Gontier replaced. With the relay, she finished sixth as the best result in March 2020 in Nové Město . Carrara also took part in the 2020 home world championships in Antholz . There she achieved a 49th place in the 15-kilometer race as the best individual result and also competed as the final runner of the Italian relay together with Lisa Vittozzi , Dorothea Wierer and Federica Sanfilippo . The team in the lead at halftime had already dropped to fifth after two penalty loops from Sanfilippo, Carrara shot another penalty loop and finished in tenth place.

In spring 2020, the Italian winter sports federation took Carrara as one of four biathletes in the A-team (alongside Wierer, Vittozzi and Irene Lardschneider ), which contributed to the significant rejuvenation of the squad.
