Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (born September 23, 1996 in Bærum ) is a Norwegian biathlete .
Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold lives in Oslo and works for Fossum IF . She is one of the few left-handed shooters in biathlon.
Career
Beginnings (2015 to 2017)
Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold contested her first international races at the 2015 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Minsk . There she won the silver medal straight away in the individual race. After bronze in the sprint, she improved by two places in the pursuit race and secured her first gold medal. In the relay race she won - together with Kristin Fløttum and Eline Grue - another bronze medal. In March 2015 she also took part in the Norwegian biathlon championships in Sirdal . There she won gold in the individual competition, silver in the sprint and bronze in the pursuit race.
In 2016 she again took part in the Biathlon Junior World Championships , which were held in Cheile Grădiştei, Romania . After finishing sixth in the individual race, nine in the sprint and five in the pursuit race, she won the gold medal in the relay race - together with Anne Bredalen and Turi Thoresen . Shortly thereafter, she received her first senior citizen competition at the European Biathlon Championships in Tyumen , Russia , which were held as part of the IBU Cup . In her first race, the single mixed relay, she won the bronze medal together with Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen . After a 15th place in the sprint, she worked her way forward in the pursuit with the best time of the whole field and three shooting errors and finished the race on the podium. She prevailed against Anastassija Sagoruiko in the finish sprint and won the bronze medal. Due to her good performance, she also qualified for the mass start, which she also finished in third place. Here she just decided the race for herself at the finish and again narrowly prevailed against Sagoruiko and her teammate Olga Jakuschowa .
After her club colleague Tiril Eckhoff decided not to start at the World Cup finals in Khanty-Mansiysk , Russia after the successful home World Cup in Oslo , Tandrevold was nominated for her first appearance in a World Cup race due to her good performance at the European Championships. In her first World Cup race, the sprint in Khanty-Mansiysk, she reached 29th place with a shooting error and thus qualified for the pursuit race, which she finished 37th and thus also in the points.
In the 2016/17 season she was used in Östersund , Oberhof and Ruhpolding in a few individual races, but never reached the points. She took in the Biathlon European Championships 2017 in Poland Duszniki-Zdroj again at a European part. After a tenth place in the individual race, she won the silver medal in the sprint and the bronze medal in the pursuit race. In the single mixed relay she formed a team again with Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen and won another silver medal. At the season finale at Holmenkollen in Oslo , she ran again in the World Cup, but failed again with a 48th place in the sprint and a 49th place in the pursuit race.
First Olympic participation and World Championship title (since 2017)
Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold has been an integral part of the Norwegian World Cup team since winter 2017/18 . She won her first race of the season, the mixed relay in Östersund , together with Tiril Eckhoff , Johannes Thingnes Bø and Emil Hegle Svendsen . Just a week later, in Hochfilzen, Austria, with a fifth place in the sprint, she achieved her first top 10 place in the World Cup. She also qualified for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , where she missed medal ranks by just over ten seconds in the women's relay together with Synnøve Solemdal , Tiril Eckhoff and Marte Olsbu .
In the 2018/19 season, she finished all individual races in the points. In Ruhpolding, she was second together with the Norwegian women's relay - in the same line-up as at the Olympic Games with Solemdal, Eckhoff and Olsbu Røiseland. Just one day later, she finished second again in the mass start race, thus achieving her first podium finish in a single race in the Biathlon World Cup. On the final lap she was able to compensate for a gap of a good five seconds on the German Franziska Preuss and even take the lead for a short time, but in the end Preuss won with a lead of just 0.2 seconds. Also in 2019 she took part in her first world championships in biathlon. In her first race, the 7.5 km sprint, she won the silver medal, together with Synnøve Solemdal , Tiril Eckhoff and Marte Olsbu Røiseland , she won gold in the relay race. She finished the season in 11th place in the overall World Cup and was second best Norwegian after Røiseland.
The start of the winter 2019/20 was successful for Tandrevold with a second place in the mixed relay race in Östersund . After a 25th place in the sprint, she always took a place among the best six athletes in the following five individual races. After finishing second in the pursuit race in Annecy - Le Grand-Bornand , as the most consistent athlete in the World Cup, she took on the yellow jersey of the leaders in the overall standings for the first time in her career.
