From now on, the trained policewoman, who competes for Dinamo Krasnoyarks , was part of the World Cup team. In 2000 she won her first World Cup in Oberhof with the Russian relay. In Ruhpolding she came eighth in the sprint and sixth in the pursuit for the first time in the top 10. Once Tschernoussowa was able to win a World Cup race in Ruhpolding in 2005. However, she had to share the victory with Olga Pyljowa at the same time .

Her first appearances at the biathlon world championships were in Oslo in 2000 . Here she finished sixth in the sprint and eighth in the pursuit. Her sporting highlight was winning the gold medal with the Russian relay, which also included Pyljowa, Galina Kuklewa and Albina Achatowa . The title fights in Pokljuka the following year were unsuccessful for them. 2003 in Khanty-Mansiysk she was 15th in the individual and won again with Achatowa, Kuklewa and Swetlana Ischmuratowa gold with the relay. In 2005 in Hochfilzen she was again 13th in the sprint. Chernousova never took part in the Olympic Games in her career.

Between 2004 and 2006, Chernousova started several times in the European Cup. She won two sprint races there.

Since 2006, Chernousova was able to achieve less and less success in biathlon, but she was able to celebrate success in summer biathlon . At the 2006 World Championships in Ufa , she won gold in the sprint and behind Jelena Dawgul silver in the pursuit.
