Michele Zackheim

Michele Zackheim (born May 5, 1941 in Reno (Nevada) ) is an American writer and visual artist .

Zackheim grew up in Compton (California) .

Writer

Zackheim published the following books:

  • Violette's Embrace: A Novel (Riverhead Books, 1996), a fictional biography by French writer Violette Leduc .
  • Einstein's Daughter: The Search for Lieserl (Penguin Putnam, 1999), on the trail of the forgotten illegitimate daughter of Mileva Marić and Albert Einstein (published in German under the title Einstein's Daughter ; Munich: List, 1999).
  • Broken Colors (Europa Editions, 2007) tells the story of an artist whose life leads to a place where life and art merge.
  • The novella Last Train to Paris (Europa Editions, 2014) explores the themes of aging and love .

Visual artist

In addition to her writing activities, Zackheim works in the field of fine arts. She created frescoes , installations , print art and paintings . She won two National Endowment for the Arts awards and teaches at the School of Visual Arts in New York City .
