Michelle McNamara
Michelle McNamara (born April 14, 1970 ; † April 21, 2016 in Los Angeles ) was an American author who, in particular, through the book I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer , which won the 2019 Anthony Award for Best Non-Fiction .
Life
McNamara studied at the University of Notre Dame and the University of Minnesota . She started the website TrueCrimeDiary in 2006 and worked extensively on the golden state killer crime case. Until her death in April 2016, she appeared regularly in the documentary series A Crime to Remember . Michelle McNamara was married to actor Patton Oswalt and had a daughter with him. She died due to a drug interaction .
