David Michôd
David "Dave" Michôd (born November 30, 1972 in Sydney ) is an Australian film director , screenwriter , film producer and actor .
Life
After attending Grammar School in Sydney, Michôd moved to Melbourne , where he worked in the Victorian Education Department. He soon broke off this activity and began studying art at the University of Melbourne . This was followed by training at a film school.
After completing his training, he worked for the film magazine Inside Film in Sydney, initially as a simple editor and then from 2003 to 2006 as editor-in-chief. At the same time, the first short films were made, including Ezra White, LL.B. (2006), Crossbow (2007) or Netherland Dwarf (2008).
In 2008 he co-produced the documentary Solo: Missing on the High Seas with Jennifer Peedom, about the Australian adventurer Andrew McAuley , who died trying to become the first person to paddle a sea kayak from Tasmania to New Zealand. Two years later Michôd made his feature film debut with the crime drama Kingdom of Crime . In the same year Spencer Susser filmed the screenplay for Hesher - The Rebel , which the director had written together with Michôd.
Michôd's second feature film, The Rover, was released in 2014 , for which he again wrote the script and this time also acted as a producer.
In 2017 his next film War Machine was released , for which Michôd also wrote the script based on the non-fiction book The Operators by Michael Hastings . The main role was taken by Brad Pitt .
