Spencer Susser

Spencer Susser (* 1977 ) is an American film director , screenwriter and producer .

Act

Susser is the only US member of the Australian filmmaker collective Blue-Tongue Films.

His short film I Love Sarah Jane, starring Mia Wasikowska , won the Best Short Film at the 2008 Nashville Film Festival, the Reel Frontier Merit Award at the Arizona International Film Festival and the Canal + Award at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival . Susser wrote the project together with David Michôd. In February 2011 it was reported that Susser was developing a feature film based on the short film.

Susser co-directed the music video for Lana Del Rey's song Summertime Sadness, starring Kyle Newman, which was released in 2012.

In his feature debut Hesher - The rebel played Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Natalie Portman the lead roles. It was released at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and was released in the United States on May 13, 2011. He then made several short films, most recently in 2016. In 2014, he also directed an episode of the Hemlock Grove series .
